市井之臣shì jǐng zhī chénsubjects of the market place—the ordinary townspeople ❍ 在国曰~,在野日草莽之臣,皆谓庶人。(《孟子·万章下》) A scholar residing in the city is called ‘a minister of the market place and well,’ and one residing in the country is called ‘a minister of the grass and plants.’ In both cases he is a common man. 市井之臣shì jǐnɡ zhī chén旧时指去官而居于都市的士大夫。《孟子·万章下》:“在国曰市井之臣,在野曰草莽之臣,皆谓庶人。” 市井之臣shìjǐngzhīchén〔偏正〕 在都市里没做官的士人。《孟子·万章下》:“在国曰~,在野曰草莽之臣,皆庶人。” △ 多用于士人对国君的自称。 |
