惯指吃苦的事抢在前头，享乐的事让给他人。赵树理《卖烟叶》：“王兰的特点是吃苦在前，享受在后，心直口快，有甚说甚。”

指艰苦的事情抢在前头做，享乐的事情让给别人。
也作“吃苦在别人前头，享受在别人后头”。

【辨析】“吃苦在前，享受在后”与“先天下之忧而忧，后天下之乐而乐”在意义上有一致之处，但前者主要是一种品德和修养，后者主要表达“心怀天下”的意思，更多的是一种理想与抱负。
