谓祸福像风云一样，难以预料。旦夕：早晚，指很短的时间。不测：料想不到。例第九回：“王婆道： ‘都头却怎的这般说？天有不测风云，人有旦夕祸福；今早脱下鞋和袜，未审明朝穿不穿。谁人保得常没事？ ’”

不测：料想不到。旦夕：早晚，指很短的时间。天气变化常是难以预测准确。比喻人的祸福难以预料。“旦夕”也作“当时”。也单说“天有不测风云”。宋·无名氏《张协状元》三二出：“天有不测风云，人有旦夕祸福。”元·高文秀《遇上皇》第一折：“天有不测风雨，人有当时祸福。”《水浒全传》第二十六回：“王婆道：‘都头却怎地这般说？天有不测风云，人有旦夕祸福，谁保得长没事？’”明·冯梦龙《古今小说》第四卷：“片时气断丹田，七魄分飞，顷刻魂归阴府。正所谓‘天有不测风云，人有旦夕祸福’。”清·曹雪芹《红楼梦》第十一回：“凤姐听了，眼圈儿红了一会子，方说道：‘天有不测风云，人有旦夕祸福。这点年纪，倘或因这病上有个长短，人生在世，还有什么趣儿呢？’”
