People with real talent and learning must be chosen for jobs，in other words，pcople must be appointed on their merits．Incompetent people must not be employed merely to make up the number．

❷ 也可表示自谦，例我在这个职位上滥竽充数好几年了，想来真是惭愧。

I have been working here just to fill up a vacancy for several years now and feel truly apologetic when I look back．
