Trial

《财富女神的考验》，泰戈尔1897年写的剧本。王后的仆人喜瑞看见王后仁爱大方，给穷人施舍，非常嫉妒。她让自己的亲戚想方设法向王后索要东西，她自己也借口家人有病向王后骗取钱财，王后在识破她的谎言后仍然大方地施舍给她。她总想当王后，像王后那样大方。有一天，她梦见财富女神、吉祥天女拉克西米下凡。她喜出望外，要求天女满足她的愿望。天女让她如愿以偿。但要求她要能经受住考验，她满口答应。结果她当上王后后小气自私的性格丝毫未变，表面是王后，内心仍然是小人，连使女给穷人赠送东西都要指责。王后一贫如洗，来求她安身，但她却惦记着王后的首饰，最后把她赶走。有一天，来了一位衣衫破烂的老妇人，要求她设施并给予容身之处，她要老人去找王后。老人现出本相，原来正是财富女神。她感到无地自容。天女认为她没有经受住考验，收回了给她的恩赐。醒来后发现是南柯一梦。觉得自己就不是当王后的料，服服帖帖地当她的仆人。
