i.e. mountain goddess in Greek mythology,punished by Juno,queen of the gods,to be able onlyto repeat what she had heard. When Echo fell in lovewith Narcissus,a handsome youth,she could not de-clare her love but wasted away in a cave,leaving onlyher voice behind. 厄科，希腊神话中的一个山林女仙，因得罪神后朱诺，被罚只能重复别人的话。她爱上美少年那耳喀索斯但不能表示爱情，结果在山洞中憔悴而死，只留下了声音.即“回声”。
