a．❶ (只作表语)单独的：We are not alone，we have friends all over the world．我们并不孤立，我们的朋友遍天下．I am not alone in this opinion．不只是我一个人有这种意见．❷ (用在名词或代词后)只有，仅有：He alone foresaw the danger．只有他预见到了那危险．
