【典型错误】：

※The doctor told him to abstain wine．

※At the last election he abstained voting．

【说明】：

abstain是不及物动词，后面常接from，如abstain from alcohol(戒酒)，abstain from smoking(戒烟)，abstain from voting(不投票)等，但后面不可接动词不定式，如不说※abstain to vote。

例如：

The doctor told him to abstain from wine．医生叫他戒酒。

At the last election he abstained from voting．上次选举他没去投票。
