知其不可而为之

 知其不可而为之^①。(《论语·宪问》三十八)

 ①为：做，干。
 【译文】
 明知道那件事不可能，还锲而不舍地去做。(孔子就是那样的人。)
 感悟
 执著是可贵的。非理性的执著可能就是固执。

知其不可而为之zhī qí bù kě ér wéi zhī

bent on doing sth,knowing that it is impracticable
❍ 子路曰：“自孔氏。”曰： “是～者与。”(《论语·宪问》) Zi Lu said，“From Mr kong.”“It is he,is it not?”said the other，“who knows the impracticable nature of the times and yet will be doing in them.”
