中国隐语行话大辞典︱The Editor's Words The Editor's Words This is China's first comprehensive dictionary on enigmatic language and jargon withDr. Qu Yanbin, the contemporary famous expert on jargon, as the chief-editor. The nearly20000 items included in the dictionary have been selected from the various marketplacetrades, the secret groups in the vagaband societies and the various criminal bands since theTang and Song Dynasties from nearly 200 sorts of documents concerned since ancient timesto the present, investigatory materials and research reports. Its content being full and accu-rate, rich in information, linking up both ancient times and the present and with brief andaccurate notes, it is a combination of science, knowledge, materials and tool, pos-sessing rather high stability. With the exception of the original volume there is also additional volumes, including "A Dictionary of the Research of the Enigmatic Language and Jargon,”“A Table on theEvents of the Enigmatic Language and Jargon in China”, “A Concise Map on China'sEnigmatic Language and Jargon”, and the selected documents of Enigmatic secretlanguage, the enigmatic language and jargon of discourse morphology, morphology ofballad pithy formula and the paralinguistic customs. Therefore it is a rather all-round andcomprehensive revealing of the general situation of China's enigmatic language and jargonsince ancient times to the present. From it we can not only look into the cultural secracy ofthe lower society both ancient and present times and is also an important reference book forthe reading of historical documents and the popular art works since the Song, Yuan, Mingand Qing Dynasties, possessing rather high scientific value and practicability. Thus it cansupply us with important reference for the multi-leveled readers-in the fields of linguistics,folk lore, literary and art, socielogy, culture, history, public security and judicial fields. |
