1.i.e. a noble Roman womanwho committed suicide after her rape by Sextus Tarqinius,hence a type of chaste wife.Cf.Shakespeare's “The Rape of Lucrece”. 鲁克丽丝，一位罗马贵族妇女，为王子塞克斯特斯·塔昆涅斯强行污辱，愤而自尽，遂成为贞洁妻子的典型。莎士比亚长诗《鲁克丽丝受辱记》即叙此事。
△Shr.2.1.290(296): “And Roman Lucrece for her chastity；” 讲到她的贞洁，可以媲美罗马的鲁克丽丝。
