形态与组分 球形，直径100纳米。核酸为DNA，比重1．705，GC含量46%。
生物学特性 主要引起猫发烧、流泪、流鼻水、打喷嚏、咳嗽等，小猫死亡率很高。病毒在pH6～7磷酸盐缓冲液中最稳定，4℃下长期保存37℃中36小时或56℃中4～5分钟病毒即钝化。可用猫肾原代细胞和RK－13细胞株培养。
